	Before the inventions of HiMax^® OVDs and BrandMax^® OVDs, optically variable devices were produced by painstaking production of physical models and artwork. The models and artwork were then recorded, actual size, using lasers, optics and specialist processing techniques. The process is as much art as science and requires highly skilled operators. The results display stunning realism, colour and depth. Whilst there is no doubt that HiMax^® OVDs and BrandMax^® OVDs have brought speed and flexibility to the process, we believe that there are some instances where Classic holography offers features not available from their machine-driven counterparts. As pioneers in this field we have kept the knowledge and skill alive and today we still recommend Classic holography for applications where scientific craftsmanship will offer the best protection against counterfeiting.
